Abstract

Congenital melanocytic nevi are pigmented birthmarks, some of which have aconsiderable size. In some cases, not only the skin but also the brain or spinal cord are affected. Many aspects about how to manage this disease have been reconsidered and partly changed over the last 20years. This article summarizes the current state of knowledge and treatment recommendations.
