Abstract

Prospective parents are increasingly aware of potential risks to pregnancy and child health posed by exposure to toxic chemicals. Expanding scientific research demonstrates the heightened vulnerability of the prenatal period to environmental toxicants, underscoring potential benefits of exposure reduction. To inform reduction strategies, the SOCG collaborated in a national survey to examine prenatal care providers’ environmental health knowledge, concerns, practices, and views on patient education opportunities and barriers.
