Abstract

The article presents the most common types of drilling fluids for drilling in the territory of the Russian Federation. The advantages and disadvantages of hydrocarbon-based drilling fluids are considered in detail. A significant quality of RUO is a good inhibitory property, but due to a number of disadvantages, the use of RUO is not universal. To solve the problems of ensuring the stability of water–sensitive clay deposits and reducing their dispersion in a water-based drilling fluid, an inhibitor chemical reagent is being considered, which is added to the drilling fluid. It is worth noting that some inhibitors can also be used in hydrocarbon-based solutions. There are quite a lot of clay swelling inhibitors on the market to identify the most effective inhibitor, an alternative testing method is considered. At the moment, the issue of the stability of fractured rocks remains unresolved. In order to search for effective types of drilling fluids and chemical reagents to ensure the stability of mudstones, methods are considered to determine the inhibitory ability and the time of steady state of rock samples. The applicability of these methods is evaluated, and the results of testing according to the method of time of steady state of rock samples are presented. Chemical reagents for drilling mud microcolmatants are considered. These reagents colmatemicrocracks and pores in rocks, thereby reducing the likelihood of collapses. The availability of these chemicals is quite wide. All of them differ in chemical composition and, according to manufacturers, have a complex effect. However, their main task remains microcolming. There is no established unified testing methodology for these reagents, which complicates the assessment of their effectiveness. The article discusses the results of testing microcolmatants to reduce filtration at low pressure and temperature, as well as at high pressure and temperature in a clay suspension. This method of evaluating the effectiveness is taken due to the fact that with a good colmatating ability of the microcolmatant, the filtration of the solution should decrease, which may reflect the actual operation of the reagent in the well.
