Abstract

A parton picture is formulated in the context of the interaction representation of field theory by requiring the importance of infinitely intricate Feynman diagrams. Partons are supposed to be usual bare particles such as protons and pions. Electromagnetic interactions are studied in this picture. From the time-ordered product of two currents, singular terms on the light-cone are separated. The singularity is shown to be generated by the exact Feynman propagators of partons. The regular term turns out to be concerned with the vector meson dominance model. The deep-inelastic electron-proton scattering is examined in the model. The threshold behavior of the structure function due to the pion-current is found to be the same as the one due to the proton-current, namely, ∼(ω-1)3.
