Abstract

The influence of DC current flow on graphene foam have demonstrated the broadband red emission centered at ∼750 nm, characterized by the threshold behavior and exponential increase of intensity with external applied current. The emission has taken a place from a whole large-area of graphene foam surface. Its mechanism was discussed in terms of current induced ionization of graphene responsible for the luminescent transition assisted by ejection of hot electrons.
