Abstract

Fuel starvation in the downstream part of the flow channel in a solid oxide fuel cell decays the cell performance giving rise to current distribution. In particular, this behavior is complicated in the case of the hydrocarbon fuel. Elucidation of the current distribution is therefore required to optimize the gas flow condition under operation, and to develop new cell design and diagnosis method for the distribution. We have thus measured the current distribution in an anode-supported microtubular cell with segmented cathodes under different fuel flow rates at around 800℃.
