Abstract

The aim of this work was to develop a superconducting laboratory magnet system producing an AC magnetic field up to 50 Hz superimposed on the bias DC magnetic field. Such a system is required for the studies of some properties of the both conventional and high T c superconductors. The minimum desired parameters of the system are: • - AC magnetic field amplitude: B AC=0,6 T at 50 Hz and B DC=0 B AC=0,25 T at 50 Hz and B DC=3 T • - low total losses. We have designed, constructed and tested 2 different systems: the simple coaxial coil system and the coaxial coil system with strongly reduced coupling between the AC and DC magnet.
