Abstract
From March to April last year, relevant Tianjin departments made a joint study of 200 divorce actions handled by the Tianjin Intermediate People's Court during the second half of 1984, as well as some handled by district or county courts. This study was made with the aim of discovering the new characteristics of divorces during the present historical period, in an effort to enforce the Marriage Law and protect the rights of women and children. The following is a summary of current characteristics.
