Abstract

With the development of nanotechnology and its wide application in biomedical field, nanomedicine has entered an unprecedented prosperous era. Owing to the unique physical and chemical properties, organic, inorganic and hybrid nanoparticle-based nanomaterials have a wide range of applications in disease diagnosis, treatment, biological imaging and other aspects. The development of nanomedicine has entered a new stage as well. Nanomedicine has developed from nanoparticle-based nanocarriers to multifunctional nanotheranostics with improved bioactivities through surface modification, structural design, and the development of biomimetic materials using endogenous nanovesicles. The new generation of innovative nano-drugs provides a new opportunity for the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases such as cancer.
