Abstract

Background Target-controlled infusion (TCI), compared with bolus or continuous infusion, can achieve more stable hemodynamics, faster recovery and more predictable anesthetic depth. As a new infusion technique, TCI has been widely used in clinical work. But its application in cardiac surgery anesthesia is still limited. Purpose To provide the basis for rational use of TCI in cardiac surgery. Content This review will focus on the accuracy, efficiency and safety of TCI technique in cardiac anesthesia. Trend Although the usage of TCI in cardiac surgery anesthesia is still limited, it will be a priority for anesthetists in the future.
