Abstract

SummaryReport of a case of blackwater fever. Total blood exchange was performed before anuria was present and provided immediate correction for a severe anemia, the outcome of which threatened to be fatal.This therapy enabled us to draw most of the free hemoglobin from the circulating blood, thus eliminating the hazard of renal blockade.
