Abstract

In this paper I briefly address myself to viewing cure as finding the right metaphor. “Cure” itself, as metaphor, should be differentiated from what we actually do when we work with clients. I briefly discuss some critical issues raised by “how-to-cure” papers in the TAJ. TA metaphors may have limited applicability in some cases so that other frames of reference may have merit in clarifying what constitutes cure. Whatever we decide should be governed by the law of parsimony.
