Introduction Fructose intake of over 70 g/day is known to cause dyslipidemias, involving multiple metabolic pathways that can promote an excess of hepatic lipid synthesis as metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), formerly known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
