Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of desloratadine in combination with endoscopic sinus surgery for and to analyze the change of inflammatory factors in patients with chronic sinusitis. Methods 220 patients with chronic sinusitis treated at our hospital from January, 2015 to January, 2018 were selected, and were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, 110 cases for each group. Both groups were treated with endoscopic sinus surgery; and the observation group were treated with desloratadine. The clinical effects, scores of visual analogue scale (VAS) reflecting clinical symptoms, serum levels of TIgE, ECP, and inflammatory factors were compared between the two groups. Results The total therapeutic efficacy was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (93.6% vs. 80.9%, P 0.05); after the treatment, the levels of the above indicators were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusions Desloratadine combined with endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic sinusitis is effective, and can not only significantly relieve clinical symptoms, but also reduce inflammatory response, so it is worth being clinically generalized. Key words: Desloratadine; Endoscopic sinus surgery; Chronic sinusitis; Clinical efficacy; Inflammatory factors
