Abstract
Although 26% of the student‐veterans attending colleges within the City University of New York system are women, U.S. Army veteran Jessica Funes recalled that as a student she often felt invisible. She earned a master's degree in human rights at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice so she could become a veterans advocate.
