Cultures of Learning in Japanese EFL Classrooms

Abstract

This chapter attempts to understand English language classrooms in a Japanese university through participants’ own understanding and expectations of what constitutes a good language learner and a good language teacher. The participants’ views are important in learning what teachers and learners expect of each other.
