Abstract

The issue of peace is constantly being discussed, as an effective instrument within a society, to respond to the differentevents or conflicts that arise both at the regional or local, state, national, and even international levels; but seldom, it hasbeen specified in terms of the discourse and analysis that it intends to account for in order to be able to implement it andin its ultimate purpose, to achieve it; This is done through the creation of a set of public, private and social policies andstrategies that achieve this goal. Therefore, in this document, the essential dimensions of Governance and SustainableDevelopment will be addressed, with a specific focus on environmental and ecological topics, through the systematicstudy of the main global and national normative systems to achieve the objectives of the Formative and Integral Cultureof Peace. From the point of view of public policies, since the government entity is the one legitimized to take actionsaimed at solving common problems of its inhabitants, and whose incidence is reflected in the design of educationalpolicies and institutions, it is transversal in the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
