Abstract

This article is devoted to analysis to the concept of culture in the roman of Stefan Żeromski “Homeless People” (“Ludzie bezdomni”). The paper notes that at the end of the XIX century, the understanding of culture in the context of the class division of society was established in the social environment, which ultimately led to the formalization of moral norms and a spiritual crisis.
