Abstract

Purpose of Review Despite a greater prevalence of end-stage renal disease than in non-Hispanic whites, Hispanics/Latinos receive disproportionately fewer kidney transplants, particularly living donor kidney transplants. Because a lack of knowledge and cultural beliefs contribute to Hispanics’ low living donation rates, it is critical to understand how culturally competent interventions may increase knowledge of living kidney donation and live donor transplantation in the Hispanic population.
