Summary

Paper type General review

Impact of diversity on innovation Numerous studies confirm the positive impact of diversity at board level, executive leadership and managerial roles in organizations. The study goes on to conclude that the more varied an innovation team is in terms of country of origin the greater the impact The authors ascribe this to employees with diverse backgrounds having specific cultural knowledge, which can be deployed to assess and solve problems in different ways, and they may have a higher tolerance for taking risks. In countries with low scores on the uncertainty avoidance dimension (UAI) non smiling individuals were deemed as more intelligent (Hareli and Hess, 2010), and second, in countries with high corruption indicators, smiling correlated with reduced levels of trust (Ozono, 2010) Another crucial factor for team members relates to communication style (Figure 2).
