Abstract

Globalization as a process has many aspects such as economical, political, social and cultural one. All of these aspects in their own way are contributing to the development of the modern society, in which we do have positive and negative processes. Conflicts are one of those negative processes that needs to be managed, in order to achieve relatively stable level of them. Cultural conflicts are no exception from that. Besides the definition of the terms such as globalization, culture and cultural conflicts, in this paper there are explanations of types of cultural conflicts and the ways of their resolving One of the key parts of this paper is dedicated to the 'Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions', which was defined and promoted by UNESCO. That Convention was approved by our Government in 2009. and Ministry for Culture is responsible for its implementation. One of the key purposes of this Convention is to protect national cultures, with the respect of other cultures, and by doing that we can institutionally decrease the level of cultural conflicts.
