Abstract
This paper seeks to describe some of the challenges in the implementation of IS in a non-profit organisation in a developing country. When people from developed countries assist in the process of making requirements specification, an understanding of local culture is essential for a successful collaboration. Cultural dimensions from Hofstede and other researchers are examined to take specific actions to reduce the cultural gap between developed and developing countries. The culture also affects the implementation process, which this paper has found an appropriate solution for. This, together with a requirements specification for an organisation, is the basis of this action research study in the Philippines.
