Abstract

In the words of great Napoleon – “Nation’s progress is impossible without trained and educated mothers and if the women of my country are not educated, about half of the people will be ignorant”. The paper analyses gender differences in education visible across the socio-economic extent in India. There are still a great number of girls especially in the rural areas, drop out before they reach higher stages of education. Many enter in to marriages and become young mothers before having the opportunity to realize their full potential. “When girls are educated there countries become strong and more prosperous”. By Michael Obama. Many women are not even able to peruse their missions of further education and with that grow great in life. And for which there is a need to develop gender-specific teaching and also to provide flexibility in the network of the education system, in which women could fulfil their aspirations, and could truly work and belief in themselves which also allows them to overcome their domestic obligations. Therefore, Higher education should prepare them to face a world of opportunities and challenges with open hands and heart.
