Abstract
North Xinjiang belongs to an alpine region with high altitude. Almost no Chinese jujube was grown 10 years ago in this severely-cold area. However, scientists have developed cultivars of Chinese jujube suitable for this region. As a consequence, the Chinese jujube cultivation increased very fast in recent years and high quality fresh jujube was successfully produced there. The present article reported the growing history and current situation of Chinese jujube industry in Xinjiang, and the practical cultivation techniques for Chinese jujube in North Xinjiang.
