Abstract

Grounded in the theoretical frameworks of Judith Butler and alternative media, this paper explores the depictions of Palestinians in US mainstream media. It offers an alternative intercultural approach, emphasizing the real experiences of Palestinians affected by violence, wars, and displacement. The paper underscores the significance of challenging dominant narratives, amplifying dissenting voices, and addressing media censorship within the framework of Israeli apartheid policies in The Occupied Territories of Palestine. It also scrutinizes tactics that inaccurately characterize opposition to Israel as antisemitic.
