Abstract
The double Ullmann coupling reactions between 4,5-diaryl-2-(2-bromophenyl)- 1H-imidazole and 7-bromo-1H-indole/indazole were successfully carried out, being catalyzed by CuI/o-phen in the presence of K2CO3. This approach provides an effective way for the synthesis of benzo [6,7]imidazo[1',2':4,5] [1,4]diazepino[3,2,1-hi]indoles/indazoles via a double Ullmann cross-coupling reaction to build two new Csp2-N bonds.
