Abstract

This paper presents software developed for reversing signal processing in doppler radar with electronically controlled beam. In such a radar, pulse compression, beamforming, quadrature demodulation and decimation are usually performed using FPGA devices. Moreover, because of rotary joint throughput limitations, raw data stream prior to the beamforming cannot be transmitted down from the antenna. It causes difficulties in analysing, testing and modifying existing algorithms and software. The main goal of the project described in the present paper was to develop a tool which would provide real-time raw radar data stream based on real signals derived from the stages following pulse compression and beamforming. Due to the need of high computational power, necessary for such demanding data processing tasks, all the essential computations are parallelized and performed on GPU.
