Abstract

This interdisciplinary essay seeks to understand the universe of meanings in the works Amem (2015) and Make America Great Again (2017), by Spanish artist Abel Azcona from the perspective of performance, of pieces from the real world that seek to break the border between art and life, emphasizing aspects of contemporary artistic practices in movements that do not ignore current political conditions. The analyzed works demonstrate a complex structure between the private and the public of performances and happenings, and highlight Abel Azcona as one of the most provocative artists nowadays.
