Abstract

Covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) are crystalline porous material with excellent stability and tremendous utility in various applications. Therefore, CTF has been synthesized by the reaction of melamine and terephthaldehyde under solvothermal conditions and then copper ions are integrated into it in view to make it a better catalyst (Cu@CTF) for click reaction of azides and alkynes to obtain disubstituted triazole derivatives. The catalyst was thoroughly characterized by FT IR, FESEM, EDX, TGA, BET, and ICP analysis. Results from all experiments demonstrated that copper was successfully incorporated in CTF. The SEM analysis shows that the Cu@CTF is having beautiful broccoli shaped morphology. The protocol for click reaction developed is very fast using wide range of reactants, outstanding yields of the click products and catalyzer's capacity to be recycled multiple times all together indicate the superior applicability of Cu@CTF in catalysis. We anticipate that our strategy will help advance research into creating and using functional CTF materials for catalysis, which give ecological and economical rewards.
