Abstract

In this paper, the composite of carbon quantum dot modified BiOIO 3 (CQDs / BiOIO 3 ) was prepared by CTAB assisted one step hydrothermal method. The results showed that the CQDs / BiOIO 3 composite can degrade 70% tetracycline aqueous solution within 120 min. And the possible mechanism was further proposed. • 0D /2D N-CQDs / BiOIO 3 composites were prepared by simple hydrothermal method. • CTAB was used as surfactant to increase BiOIO 3 pore volume innovatively. • N-CQDs increased the efficiency as electron trapping agent and photosensitizer. • After characterization, the possible mechanism was proposed. Semiconductor photocatalysts have broad application prospects in the degradation of antibiotics and other pollutants. In this paper, the composite of carbon quantum dot modified BiOIO 3 (CQDs / BiOIO 3 ) was prepared by CTAB assisted one-step hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TEM, SEM and so on, it was found that the two-dimensional sheet structure of BiOIO 3 was loaded by carbon quantum dot, which form a 0D / 2D structure of CQDs / BiOIO 3 . The results showed that the CQDs / BiOIO 3 composite can degrade 70% tetracycline aqueous solution within 120 min, which is greatly enhanced compared with pure BiOIO 3 (50% within 120 min). Through the active species trapping experiment, it was explored that ·O 2 ¯ was the main active substance, and the possible mechanism was further proposed.
