Abstract

An approximation method of measures in the plane is obtained by combining CT-like (computerized tomography) projections and a one–dimensional fractal approximation technique previously devised by the author. Both methods are based on sampling by orthogonal polynomials and involve operations on Jacobi matrices, to avoid the well known ill conditioning of moment methods.
