Abstract
well meet the treatment requirement. The mean entrance point positioning deviation was 0.883 mm (range 0.002 to 2.943 mm) in different sites. The mean orientation deviation were 1.977 (range 0.536 to 4.566 ). All needles arrived the preplanned position in 1 attempt manually. The mean time to insert one needle is 7.5 seconds. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that 3D printing individual templates can acurately confirm the position and direction of needles in brachytherapy, and achieve effectively transfer from preplan to clinical operations. 3D printing individual template can enhance implantation accuracy, as well as simplifying the procedure. It is a simple and effective way to guide needle insertion in head and neck, because of the complex structures and existence of many organs at risk.
