CT findings of maxillofacial tumors invading the central skull base

Abstract

A variety of manifestations of central skull base erosion by maxillofacial tumors can be delineated on CT images. On the basis of the results of this study, if signs of displacement and thinning of the central skull base are present, the existence of a maxillofacial lesion is somewhat more likely than that of a benign tumor. Both these CT findings are valuable in makings differential diagnosis of maxillofacial tumors.
