Abstract
Computed tomography is unavoidable in OMFS for diagnosis and treatment planning. Cad based medical softwares now are able to reconstruct, visualize, simulate surgical procedures and prepare prosthesis from CT data mimics is a powerful CT data manipulation medical software which also can be used to produce 3D physical models of any part of the human anatomy it can be used for accurate measurement of the defects and template preparation, we have used mimics to visualize bone and soft tissue defects, intra bony lesion and accurate measurement of the extension of the lesion, template for resection, accurate plate adaptation and intra operative guidance and surgical procedure simulation this paper presents our clinical results of surgical cases based on 3D physical models and CT data manipulation with mimics.
