Abstract
Efficient and stable photocatalyst is the pursuit in the field of photocatalysis. Recently, CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) leave a deep impression due to their photocatalytic properties. Nevertheless, direct applications in water splitting reactions have been confined because of their poor stability in the polarity solution. In this work, we designed a robust borosilicate glass host, and CsPbCl1.5Br1.5: xZn2+ (x = 0, 0.25, 0.35, 0.5) NCs were crystallized in the glass via a strategy of in situ crystallization. Furthermore, we focused on the regulation of photocatalyst achieved by Zn2+ ions doping, then adopted two different methods for the first time to realize the external modification of glass powder and explore their effects on photocatalytic water splitting towards H2 production. When the doping amount of Zn2+ ions was 0.25 and the powder was prepared by mechanical ball grinding modification, the optimal H2 production performance can reach to 290.67 μmol g−1. In addition, compared with perovskite NCs colloid, the powder with preferable water stability will have a great potential in water splitting reactions.
