Abstract

Recently, Wi-Fi has become the mainstream technology to access the Internet. There are many researches applying Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) to Wi-Fi network in order to provide better performance for different applications. As a result, Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) users are interfered when coexisting with TDMA users based on Wi-Fi. This paper considers the TDMA without carrier sense and analyzes the throughput of CSMA/CA in hybrid network. We improve the existing two-dimensional Markov chain model by considering TDMA as a periodic interference. Athrough put evaluation model of CSMA/CA is proposed in this paper, which can be applied to evaluate the through put under different conditions. In addition, we compare the analytical results with the obtained by means of simulation. The results show that the evaluation model is accurate and the saturation through put of CSMA/CA is monotonic decreasing with increasing duty cycle of TDMA.
