Abstract

We have developed a new ionization method called ‘ionic probe attachment ionization,’ which uses lanthanide-complex-based ionic probes containing tetramethyl 2,6-bis(oxazolinyl)pyridine (TMpybox) ligands. Cold-spray ionization mass spectra of the lanthanide-series ionic probes are presented using NHS-TMpybox-binding lysine. The coordination ability of lanthanides, which is a fundamental property of these metals, was estimated by determining the stability of each complex at low spray temperature.
