Abstract
The phosphates Na 1–3 x Eu x Ti 2(PO 4) 3, M 0.5Ti 2(PO 4) 3 and M 0.5FeNb(PO 4) 3 (M is a divalent cation) belong to the Nasicon structural family. The structures have been determined by the Rietveld refinement of the powder X-ray diffraction patterns. The space group is R 3 for Na 0.25Eu 0.25Ti 2(PO 4) 3 and Ca 0.5Ti 2(PO 4) 3 and R 3 c for M 0.5FeNb(PO 4) 3 (M = Cd, Ca, Sr, Pb, Ba). The change of space group, which is related to the cation distribution, is discussed with regard to the composition of the phosphates.
