Abstract

Calcium hydroxide was precipitated from seeded aqueous solutions of calcium salts and sodium or potassium hydroxide. The crystallization process was followed using the constant composition method over an appropriate range of supersaturations (σ = 0.2-0.4). The order of the growth was found to be between 2.3 and 3.3 for precipitations from 0.1M to 0.3M NaCl solutions and for seeds of three sizes.
