Abstract
Time-dependent measurements of the velocity of ultrasound at constant temperature in hydrocarbon-in-water emulsions containing a mixture of solid and liquid droplets show that crystallization is induced in liquid droplets when solid droplets are present. We suggest that this may be caused by the solid droplets colliding with liquid droplets and initiating crystallization within them.
