Abstract

The crystallization behavior of several amorphous Cu-Zr and Cu-Ti alloys was characterized using differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Comparisons between the two alloy systems and between two Cu60Ti40 alloys prepared by different quenching techniques were made. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis of the partially crystallized microstructures gave information on the modes of crystal nucleation and growth.
