Abstract
Maximum nucleation temperatures, maximum crystal growth temperatures, steady-state nucleation rates and crystal growth rates were measured for several compositions of the glassforming system Li 2 O-SiO 2 . In a second series the influence of Pt as a nucleating agent was tested. The phase separation process in the system Li 2 O-SiO 2 could be followed from homogeneity measurements using the Christiansen Shelyubskii-method. Binodal temperatures coincide well with previous data obtained alternatively.
