Abstract

Abstract The crystallization, uniaxial and biaxial mechanical behavior of poly(D-, L-lactide)-based-blown films was investigated. It was shown that the selected grade of polylactic acid exhibits low isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics. In addition, the uniaxial stretching evidenced a ductile/fragile transition temperature located between 35 and 45°C. Eventually stress-induced crystallization was revealed upon uniaxial and simultaneous and sequential biaxial drawing.
