Abstract

The phase composition, lattice parameters, crystallite size and lattice strain of electrodeposited Ni–Mo alloys were studied. The thickness of the layers was in the range 30–40μm and the molybdenum content in the range 5.9–23at.%. The maximal solubility of molybdenum in nickel was observed for the current density Dk=300mA/cm2. The alloys were single-phase samples of solid solutions of molybdenum in nickel (α phase). Based on Rietveld refinements, the crystallite size, lattice strain and lattice parameters were calculated. All samples were nanocrystalline with the crystallite size in the range 3–22nm.
