Abstract

A systematic study of crystallisation in the amorphous alloy system (Fe0.5Ni0.5)100−x B x (x=16, 18, 20, 22 and 25 at%) has been carried out by annealing samples between room temperature and 1073 K in vacuum. Analysis of the Mossbauer spectra of these isothermally treated samples is presented along with complementary X-ray diffraction and DSC measurements. The crystallisation of these amorphous alloys proceeds in a manner similar to that of a-Fe100−x B x (16<x<25).
