Abstract

The influence of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy on the static torque of uniaxial antiferromagnets is investigated. It is shown that this influence provides a method for accurate determination of the first anisotropy constant K 1 of most uniaxial antiferromagnets. Experimental results are shown from measurements on the hexagonal polymorph of FeGe.
