Abstract

Na 4Li 4(sac) 8·14H 2O was prepared by co-crystallisation of equimolar amounts of LiCl and Na-saccharinate from water. The asymmetric unit contains 4 Na + ions, 4 Li + ions, 8 sac anions and 14 water molecules. The present structure bears some structural similarities to the already reported structure of the “dihydrate” Na 16(sac) 16·30H 2O, and to Li 6(sac) 6·11H 2O, and helps in understanding these structures better.
