Abstract

A proton-transfer compound, (daptzH)2(ox), was synthesized from the reaction of 2,6-diamine-4-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine, daptz, and oxalic acid, oxH2. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. This compound crystallized in the space group P21/c of the monoclinic system and contained two molecules per unit-cell. The unit-cell parameters are a = 13.395(5)A, b = 6.613(3)A, c = 12.131(4)A and β = 109.79(2)°. The final R value was 0.0548 for 2086 measured reflections. The important feature of this crystal is N-H…O and N-H…N hydrogen-bond linkage between anion and cation groups and the cationic part themselves.
