Crystal Structure of 3-para tolyl-6-(4'-methyl-biphenyl-2-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole

Abstract

The title compound, C23H18N4S, was synthesized and the structure was investigated by X-ray crystallography. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal class in the space group P21/c with cell parameters a = 16.378(2)Å, b = 5.9050(4)Å, c = 25.026(3)Å, β = 127.981(3)°, Z = 4 and V = 1907.7(4)Å3. The condensed 1,2,4-triazolo thiadiazole ring is planar. The bond lengths indicate electron deloclization in the triazole ring system.
