Abstract

Perovskite YFe1-xMnxO3 nanopowders (0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.4) were synthesized by the co-precipation method in which the hydrate process of Y(III), Fe(III) and Mn(II) cations in boiling water took place. After annealing at 800 °C for 1 h, the nano YFe1-xMnxO3 materials had the single phase of YFe1-xMnxO3. The results showed that in the range of Mn (II) х from 0.1 to 0.4, the materials had the indexes of crystal size (DXRD = 23.61 ÷ 22.95 nm), lattice constant (a = 5.5932 ÷ 5.6744 Å, b = 7.7373 ÷ 7.5194 Å, c = 5.3014 ÷ 5.2592 Å, and V = 229.425 ÷ 224.4012 Å3), saturation magnetization (Ms = 2.19 ÷ 1.12 emu/g), maximum energy product ((BH)max = 2.19 ÷ 1.12 emu/g), coercive force (Hc = 56.94 ÷ 150.95 Oe), remanent magnetization (Mr = 0.23–0.50 emu/g). When increasing the amount of Mn (II), the indexes of crystal size, lattice constant (b, c, V), saturation magnetization and maximum energy product decreased; while those of coercive force, remnant magnetization and lattice constant (a) increased.
